I am 52 years old, married with two children and living within the community I have had the privilege to represent since 1990.

I have worked tirelessly to deliver on the request of the residents of Redhill, responding to the needs of the community.

Through working in education and being a Chair of Governors at one of our local schools, I understand the importance of giving our children the best start in life. Delivered through successfully lobbying the council to support plans to provide activities for children and young adults, a new skate park within our community is now completed and a new play park for the under 11’s is expected to be completed later this year.

Using community chest funding, we have been able to provide financial support to help many local community groups in recent years, including Redhouse CA, local schools, and many more organisations within our community.

I was involved in the lobbying of the city council to secure funding to install a community wide 20mph speed zone to ensure our children remain safe from traffic. This is currently being consulted upon within our community, with works to begin in the summer.

I have been working closely with the police and Gentoo to bring to their attention inappropriate behaviour by young adults and to ensure the community is kept safe, and crime is tackled.

Raising the aspirations of our community is important to me and so I have been passionate about developing community litter picks, a community health programme and family lifestyle clubs, a community cinema for our children operating from the fire station, as well as a community shop based at Redhouse CA.

Importantly, I am available all year round not just at election times, holding regular ward surgeries.
