I’m married to Wendy and live in Houghton.  We have three grown up sons and they all attended our local school, Houghton Kepier. I have spent my entire career working with the NHS. In my spare time I coach young players at Houghton Rugby Club and I’m a committee member of a local sports charity.

I became involved in local politics through a number of successful community campaigns. Most recently, I was heavily involved in the successful fight to save the Field of Dreams, near to Newbottle School.

I will work with my Labour colleagues, Alex Scullion and Juliana Heron, for the whole community of Houghton. I will ensure the people of Houghton have a strong voice. I will develop the localism agenda to encourage local services to buy from local businesses, to generate investment and employment in our community.
