Labour’s leader in Sunderland has written to the Prime Minister, demanding an urgent review of the ‘cliff-edge’ financial position faced by local authorities, created by Government cuts to funding.

In a letter to Theresa May, last week, Councillor Harry Trueman details the huge impact funding gaps have had on front-line services and urges the Conservative Government to rethink their programme of austerity, which is bringing misery to the poorest people in society.
